Overview

This half-day training session will cover the appointment of a post holder - from commencement of the process by the Board of Management to providing feedback to applicants.

Please note that this is a repeat of the training delivered at the start of the last school year. 

The objective of this training is to equip interviewers with the necessary skills to conduct competency-based interviews for middle leadership and management posts, and to ensure full compliance with Circular 0003/2018 in recruiting the best candidates.

Who should attend?

Independent chairpersons, principals and other interviewers nominated by the Board of Management. In particular, it is intended for those who were unable to attend this training last year.

This training is not for teachers who are likely to apply for a post.

It is critical to the success of the interview process, to minimise the possibility of appeals, that all members of the interview board have attended this training. It is essential that independent chairpersons employed by the school attend this training now or have attended it last year.

This training module is different to the interview competency training for principal and deputy principal interviews.
