Post-primary schools face shortage of principals

Post-primary schools are facing a shortage of principals, with fewer than one in three predicting they will  be in the role in five years’ time.

High stress less levels were cited as a major issue for those in the job, in research published by the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals (NAPD).

The study analysed the challenges faced by today’s second-level school leaders and the supports required to carry out their roles. Read article
