JRS Ireland Education Project CHANGE

JRS Ireland:

CHANGE is a European wide project, which aims to bring students and forced migrants together to work towards creating an open and inclusive society. The project is based on a six-lesson curriculum, and encourages an encounter with a refugee, which together aim to foster empathy and develop critical thinking skills around topics such as migration, diversity, prejudices and racism.

The programme has been adapted in light of the current global health context and can be delivered online if desired. Similarly, the programme can also be delivered in a one-time workshop.

CHANGE has been delivered in several schools across the country, and the feedback from both teachers and students has been very positive. The project has been delivered across a variety of subjects including senior-cycle religion and ethical education. The project is flexible and so, can be adapted to suit each individual school context.

All the necessary resources such registration forms, teacher's handbook and student's worksheets are available from the project website at https://www.jrschange.org/
