JMB has great pleasure in inviting you to attend our Education Conference, Moving Beyond ‘Special’ – Community, Co-Creating, Celebrating.
This conference will take place on Friday, 19th September 2025 at the Croke Park Conference Centre, Dublin.
No aspect of school life has seen greater change in recent years than the provision of special education. Our school communities continue to assimilate a complex array of new pedagogies, dispositions, definitions, national policies and resourcing mechanisms. Our school leaders and teachers can sometimes navigate these changes with trepidation while facing very real challenges along the way. Therefore, this conference aims to provide peer and specialist-delivered workshops and insights from key policy makers, practitioners, specialists, support services and relevant commercial enterprises to support all who are working to provide a truly inclusive education in our schools.
We intend to leave our participants – principals, chairpersons, deputy principals, and teachers – with greater clarity and confidence, helping them to form a workable vision for the year and years ahead.
As well as a series of relevant workshops, we will have an important and engaging keynote address from Professor Deborah Robinson. Professor Robinson is the Head of the Strathclyde Institute of Education, a former class teacher and special education coordinator who has extensively researched and advocated for inclusive education.
