Competency Based Questioning in Assistant Principal Interviews
The JMB has developed a professional learning module in the area of Competency Based Questioning in the Recruitment of Middle Leaders (Assistant Principals).
This interactive session will cover the principles of competency-based interviewing and effective question formulation. Attendees will have an opportunity to develop questions which assess the specific competencies outlined in Circular 03/2018. There will also be input on best practice in Assistant Principal competitions.
Who should attend? Chairpersons, Principals and nominees of the Board of Management who are likely to serve on Selection Committees for the appointment of Middle Leaders, and Independent Chairpersons are invited to attend.
Who should not attend? Teacher nominees on Boards of Management should not attend, as they would not normally serve on Selection Committees for the appointment of Middle Leaders.
Participants should bring a copy of their school’s Needs and Priorities document.
