DRIVING FROM DUBLIN CITY THROUGH RANELAGH
Driving through Ranelagh, along Sandford Road, turn right for Milltown at the four-road Sandford/Eglinton/Clonskeagh/Milltown junction.
At the second set of traffic lights, turn left.
This takes you across the river Dodder on to the Dundrum Road.
A few minutes later pass Milltown Bridge Road on your left, and then a small estate called Churchfields. Immediately on your left, where the high wall starts, there's a recessed gateway into Emmet House.
After turning in the gateway, turn right to come around to the front of the house. There are granite steps up to the door of Emmet House.
FROM THE LUAS
Emmet House is about a ten minute walk from the Milltown Luas stop.
Turn immediately left out of the station.
Walk along the laneway to the main road.
Turn left at the main road.
Cross the road.
Walk along the footpath for about 200 yards.
Take the first turning on the right across the river Dodder.
This takes you on to the Dundrum Road.
A few minutes later pass Milltown Bridge Road on your left, and then a small new estate called Churchfields. Immediately on your left, where the high wall starts, and before you come to the bus stop, there's a recessed gateway into Emmet House.
After turning in the gateway, turn right to come around to the front of the house. There are granite steps up to the door of Emmet House.
DRIVING FROM THE M50
Take the DUNDRUM exit.
There are 4 Roundabouts between this exit and Emmet House.
Drive straight through the first 3 Roundabouts.
At the 4th Roundabout, take the first left exit – I think it’s marked City Centre.
Drive straight from that point to Emmet House:
Pass Dundrum Shopping Centre on your left
Straight on under the big new Luas Bridge
Straight on past Uncle Tom’s Pub on your left
Past a straggle of shops left and right
Past another straggle of shops on your right, and Bird Avenue on your right
The high wall enclosing Emmet House and the Marist Fathers House runs along your right
There’s a Bus Shelter on your right, and then the recessed gateway into the grounds
Park inside the gateway and come around to the front of the house past the Grotto
There are granite steps up to the door of Emmet House
